Oakwood Collegiate is proud to be the only school in Toronto that is a member school of UNESCO.
UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization was founded in 1945 with the mission  statement "to contribute to peace and security by promoting collaboration among nations through education, science and culture in order to further universal respect for justice, for the rule of law and for the human rights and fundamental freedoms which are affirmed for the peoples of the world, without distinction of race, sex, language or religion, by the Charter of the United Nations’.

Every two years our school proudly celebrates it’s cultural diversity and strong commitment to the principles of respect and human rights by presenting a dynamic showcase of ethnic and youth culture.  The 2006 show included dances of Latin, Asian, African and European origin as well as solo singers and jazz dancers.

We are looking forward to the next big show in the Spring of 2008.  Stay tuned for more details.  In the meantime check out a video clip from 2006.
