Parent Handbook 2005-2006
Dear Parents/Guardians:

This handbook has been created to keep you informed about Braeburn Junior School. Not everything you might need to know is in this handbook but someone in the school building will know the answer to your question or will know where you can find it so please ask. We strive to be welcoming and approachable. Do not be a stranger to the school!

We believe that all of our students can learn. Braeburn students are expected to strive to achieve their best academically, socially, emotionally and physically. We know that all children have different strengths, abilities, needs and interests and our dedicated, highly motivated staff will help the students develop their self confidence through a variety of curricular and extra curricular activities.

The staff cannot achieve these goals without the strong support of parents/ guardians and the community. We need you to have your children at school everyday and on time. We need you to ensure that your children come to school well rested and prepared for the day with school equipment, textbooks, physical education clothing, library books, and completed homework. We need you to work with us to solve problems or misunderstandings that may arise during the year. We need you to demonstrate positive support for all staff in front of your children. We need you to offer input and constructive criticism regarding school improvement. We need your ideas, your time and your enthusiasm. Together, we will have each child reach his/her fullest potential.

Please keep this handbook available in your home. It will prove to be an important resource during the year.

Have a wonderful school year!

Val Greenfield
