On December 8th, DV had its annual winter concert. Jolly music was ringing from every room of the school creating an amazing atmosphere. Instead of charging tickets to get in, we asked parents and friends to contribute to the food drive. We started off the night with senior band playing O’Canada and then a Christmas favourite, Deck the Halls. Grade 8 strings then reminded us that there is never a wrong time to listen to classics like Canon In D or for folk music like Cripple Creek. The glee club serenaded us with preppy pop music pieces and then accompanied the Grade 9’s in Sakura, a Japanese folk song. The best part of the concert was when senior strings played Viva La Vida, with the audience singing along to every note. With Themes From The Nutcracker to close it out, it left everybody feeling the holiday spirit.
