Downsview, it is a great pleasure to announce our first Student of the Week for the 2011-2012 school year. The winner in is the tenth grade and her name is Brittany A.
Brittany’s nomination comes from Ms Murphy. Here is what she has to say: “Brittany has been going above and beyond in her involvement and enthusiasm particularly in the area of extra-curriculars at Downsview. She has shown no hesitation in getting involved and encouraging others to join the many clubs, councils, and activities that are offered at Downsview. In the past two weeks, Brittany has been assisting teachers and her peers before school, at lunch, and after school with various tasks. She is currently a participating member of Dance Council, DAA, the Band, Dance Pak, and assists with managing the boys volleyball team. Her positive attitude, reliability, and contributions to Downsview are very refereshing to see. I'm very proud of Brittany's growth as an individual and her hard work at the school is not going unnoticed. Congratulations Brittany!”
Choosing the first Student of the Week is no easy task. The first winner should set a high, but achievable bar for other students to follow. This student should be a role model for others. The winner should be well-rounded in his or her interests, and maintain a positive outlook. The winner should be generous in spirit; giving of their time to others and to our school. Brittany, as our winner you fill these requirements beautifully. We look forward to seeing you shine as the year moves ahead. Congratulations once again Brittany on your win as Student of the Week.
