School Profile

Joyce Public School is a Kindergarten to Grade 5 school with 370 students. We receive students from the community, and from two childcare centers that were both awarded the Outstanding Service Award from the City of Toronto in May 2001.

There is a strong emphasis on oral language in the school, as over 66% of our population comes from a home where English is not the first language. Two unique features of Joyce Public School are the technology emphasis and resources. Our school and staff have received many awards over the past few years. There are many extra-curricular programs held each week for our students. In particular, our parent/child programs for reading, research, and music are very popular and utilize the school's computer resources to help parents, staff and students learn together.
