Adolescents for Community Teamwork (A.C.T.)

Who we are:
A.C.T. is a non-profit organization founded in 2002 by a dedicated group of students at Leaside High School, in Toronto. ACT promotes and provides volunteer opportunities for Leaside students to fulfill their 40 hours of community service in a fun and interactive manner. Over the last eight years, ACT has grown incredibly, providing the community with thousands of hours of volunteer assistance. The organization has also initiated fundraising events and teaches students to develop their leadership skills.

Our Mission Statement:
- Provide the means to complete a minimum of 40 hours of community services
- Assist other volunteer organizations in meeting their need for human resources
- Create awareness of the dire need for volunteers
- Develop relationships with members of the community
- Encourage students to adopt volunteerism as a lifestyle
