School Council Election

July 2016

To the Parents/Guardians of all LHS students:

We, the current School Council of Leaside High School, invite you to come to our first School Council meeting for the 2016/17 school year, to be held September 27th, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. During this meeting, we will elect two Co-Chairs and one Secretary for the School Council 2016/2017 academic year. We are accepting nominations for these positions. Please submit your nomination forms to Susan Wright in the Main Office at Leaside High School.

School Council is open to any parents or guardians of Leaside students who wish to attend meetings to learn about school events and activities and participate in an advisory capacity to support student success.

Come out to vote and participate in School Council. There are eight meetings throughout the year and the Council is supported by committees where much of the actual work gets done. Council members volunteer in a collaborative spirit on the various initiatives underway. We simply need YOUR leadership and your passion for education.

School Councils play a vital role in the education system; they can affect change at the school, board and provincial levels, and they can positively contribute to student achievement. Council members stay informed about what is happening in the school environment, both locally and more broadly. To find out more about the benefits of participating at LHS School Council, please visit our website here.

Council involvement is a great way to make a difference and keep tuned in to Leaside High School. We hope to see you September 27th!
