The Networking Academy program will prepare you for immediate positions in the global information economy. Students may, upon completion of the four credits, write the Cisco exam and achieve an internationally recognised “Cisco Certified Network Associate Certificate” (C.C.N.A.). This is the first step leading to other Cisco Certifications.

Start a growth path that will enable continual enhancement of skills in the networking industry or build a solid foundation for post secondary education in computer technologies. Computer networking technicians are in high demand. A four-credit package (two course credits and two co-op credits) is available to selected students. Students who complete Cisco Networking Academy credits may qualify to write an examination to become a Cisco Certified Network Associate. The three courses are:

• TDJ4AE Computer Networking Co-op

TDJ3AR Technological Design (Computer Networking)
The Cisco Academy Technological Design program (a 4-credit package) teaches students to design, build and maintain computer networks. Level one features computer based learning to cover the theory of networking infrastructure and the concepts behind local and wide-area networks. Upon completion of all Cisco Academy Program credits, students may qualify to write an examination, recognized worldwide to qualify for the Cisco Certified Network Associate Certificate. Prerequisite: Grade 10 Advanced English and Grade 10 Advanced Math.

TDJ4AR Technological Design (Computer Networking)
Level 2 of the Cisco Networking Academy program goes beyond traditional computer based education to help students develop practical networking knowledge and skills in a hands-on environment. Students will work with the actual building blocks of today’s global information networks and will learn by doing. Upon completion of all Cisco Academy Program credits, students may qualify to write an examination, recognised worldwide for the Cisco Certified Network Associate Certificate. Prerequisite: TDJ3AR (Level 1 Cisco Academy Course).

TDJ4AE Computer Networking Co-op
The Cisco Academy Technological Design Co-op experience (2 credits) will take the student into the real business world to work with professionals on local and wide-area networks. Upon completion of all Cisco Academy Program credits, students may qualify to write an examination, recognised world wide to qualify for the Cisco Certified Network Certificate. Prerequisite: TDJ4AR (Level 2 Cisco Academy Course).
