Guitar, Grade 11, University/College Concentration is on the further development of studies begun in grade 10 through the performance of repertoire; equal emphasis on the technical aspects of the instrument: chord progression facility, linear reading, and higher position shifting. Course Path: AMG4M or AMS4M or AMU4M Pre-Requisite: AMG3M or the equivalent experience with the instructor's recommendation.

Continuing Instrumental Music Band Studies, Grade 9, Open* This course is the continuation and advancement of the band instrument which had been started at middle school, through music repertoire and related activities. Course Path: This program leads directly to AMI3M. Pre-Requisite: 1 full year, or up to 3 years of experience at middle school, or the equivalent training through private instruction. Beginner Instrumental Band Studies, Grade 10, Open This course offers first-time instruction on playing a band instrument. Suitable for students without music experience, or to those who would like to play a new instrument. Course Path: This program leads to AMI3M. Pre-Requisite: None; any student without experience, or the experience of 1-4months is eligible to take this course.

Band Studies, Grade 11, University/College Concentration is on the further development of playing skills through repertoire performance and related activities on the instrument started during the previous course. Course Path: This program leads to AMI4M and AMU4M. Pre-Requisite:AMI-1O1 (Experienced), AMI-1O2, AMI-2O or the equivalent experience with interview and instructor's recommendation.

Vocal Music, Grade 11, University/College, Vocal Music, Grade 11, Open Concentration is on the further development of vocal skills through the performance of repertoire appropriate to the condition of the student's voice, and related activities. Course Path: The program leads to AMV4M and AMU4M. Pre-Requisite: AMI-1O, AMS-1O, AMI-2O, AMG-20, AMV-2O, or equivalent experience with instructor's permission.

Art ClassVisual Arts, Grade 9, Open This course offers an overview of visual arts as a foundation for further study. Students will become familiar with the elements and principles of design and the expressive qualities of various materials through working with a range of materials, processes, techniques, and styles. They will learn and use methods of analysis and criticism and will study the characteristics of particular historical art periods and a selection of Canadian art and the art of other cultures. Prerequisite: None

Visual Arts, Grade 10, Open This course emphasizes learning through practice; building on what students know; and introducing them to new ideas, materials, and processes for artistic thinking and experimentation. Student learning will include the refined application of the elements and principles of design, incorporating the creative and design processes, and the relationship between form and content. Students will also learn about the connections between works of art and their historical contexts. Course objectives may be achieved either through a comprehensive program or through a program focused on a particular art form (e.g., drawing, painting). Prerequisite: None
